Established 1991, We are a club that is now in it's 30th year

Currently seeking both players & non player's.

As a club we are primarily focussed on the great game of Rugby Union.

Golden Oldies rugby has modified rules that are designed to increase the enjoyment of the game while minimising the risk of injury. 

Over 35’s and up can play. Games are shorter than standard with substitutions allowed to give time to recuperate for those no longer in full fitness.  With over 60 year olds or players with medical conditions wearing colour coded shorts to help avoid injury.  

That being said the game we play is not touch rugby and for the most part it is full tackle & high impact.

 Games are bi-weekly, with game locations available from our fixtures link..

 We “train” on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm at Brown Park, Cnr Amherst Rd & Salisbury Rd, Swan View. 

Training is not a pre requisite to play but it is a good idea. It helps to provide a regular level of fitness and time to meet up with the guys to have your chance to catch up on a game or two.

Clubrooms are equipped with  150inch projector screen and broadcast International & Super 15 games as often as we can.

We have members from most rugby nations that attend the club with Australian, New Zealand, Irish, Welsh, Fijian & English supporters.

International tours are also a regular event with Air NZ World Festivals held every two years. Previous tours have been to Christchurch, Wellington New Zealand in, Edinburgh Scotland, Wales, Fiji & Fukuoka Japan.
